Community and Global Action

The purpose of Rotary Clubs around the world is, above all, to serve their local communities while at the same time reaching out to those in need around the world. The Rotary Club of Yosemite is a small club with a small budget, but we still strive to make meaningful change within the community and around the world. All of our fund-raising events, such as our Wine Tasting and Silent Auction, are directed at serving these goals. The events themselves encourage fellowship, but they also fund our activities such as:

  • Scholarships for local kids.
  • Community service projects like maintaining local bus stops and helping to build a playground for Wawona school
  • Group Study Exchange fellowships to send local people abroad
  • Donations to Haitian relief projects.
  • Contributions to the Rotary international project to stamp out polio.

Through efforts like these, we try to make Yosemite a better community, the world a better place, and the links between Yosemite and the broader world even stronger.
